Am I being unnecessarily suspicious about this friendship?
I've recently been hanging out with this woman. She invited me to her birthday after meeting me once and then she also proposed hanging out together after. I wouldn't call her a friend just yet but it's heading in that direction.
She doesn't have kids and in past conversations it sounded like (to me) that she was on the fence. I heard through the grapevine that she has expressed being annoyed when mums talk too much about their kids and that this community that we're a part of doesn't have enough adult free events. Fine, sure.
Thing is, I talk about my son a lot. He's easily the centre of my world. I post my day to day with him on IG a lot. She likes my photos. But then she'll post something about not needing kids to feel complete.
I know it's entirely possible for her to want to befriend mums but when I put all the pieces together, I feel a little judged and like I'm not sure what I'm doing here?
For the record, I support childfree women and their choices.
How would you interpret all of this?
