Need help!

Just got into the game last weekend for first time and can’t put it down. Made a mistake and ventured too far after beating the first boss and died in the “plains” got one shot by a bloody mosquito. All my gear is on my body and I’ve tried maybe 10 times to get my gear back and no joy. Really don’t want to farm all the materials again I had loads of upgrades on my stuff too. Anyone any tips or maybe want to help?
