Parking safety?

I’m driving to Montreal next week and staying at an Airbnb in Plateau. The listing says parking is not included but suggests either buying a daily parking pass for C$14/day, getting a parking pass at a nearby hotel for C$19/day, or trying free street parking.

I’ve seen a few posts regarding cars getting broken into in the street. This Airbnb even has one review from 2024 saying they did street parking and their car was stolen.

How big of an issue is this, and should I be considering the hotel parking?
