I have a question about how ejaculation works during puberty. Is semen already stored somewhere in the body before ejaculation, or is it released from the reproductive glands only when ejaculation actually happens?

For example, if someone stops right before ejaculation, has the semen already been moved into some kind of storage area and is waiting to come out, or does it remain in the reproductive system until ejaculation happens? And if ejaculation doesn’t happen, what happens to it afterward?
