Holland Code seems to me more of a hobby finder than a career finder.

Findapath-Career Change

I'm getting into middle age, and despite having like, 4 career stints that lasted 5 years each (before a leadership or culture change forced me out and made them untenable) and countless shorter-term jobs, my Holland result has remained unchanged as AIS the past 20 years (though admittedly its more like really high AI then medium S). A couple of the recommendations for AIS actually did become seemingly stable 5 ish year long islands of stability, but they ultimately didn't support a 20 year stable career and (despite how much I value stability and have almost never left a job willingly besides little minimum wage jobs to start those seemingly stable careers) I often resented how much they colonized my life outside of work.

Mind you, R and C have always been my lowest scored on Holland (usually 0 or sometimes 1), but I am finding myself drawn to maybe switching to a field Holland classifies as IRC, despite IRC only having one letter in common with AIS. It seems like a kind of job where work stays at work and I could pursue my creative writing and painting and other hobbies in my free time.

Has anybody else seen this with Holland code, or should I try to stick with the AIS recommendations?
