How strict is the 1 year malpractice filing date?
I had a very bad fall last Sept 17th. I also got a concussion. The ambulance took me to the nearest hospital in Marin County, California.
I ended up having 6 broken ribs, but the 1st hospiral the ambulance took me to, told me I didn't have any fractures. I have had a couple sets of broken ribs over the years so I knew I had fractured ribs.
They treated me like I was just wanting drugs and they refused to do anything for me. The nurse yanked my arm really hard to the side of the bed because she wanted a urine sample because they were sure I was some sort of junkie looking for a fix. The nurse told me I HAD to give a urine sample and I said I was currently being treated for a UTI and the results wouldn't be correct. I never did give the sample because I didn't have to go. When I got the paperwork back from the hospital, they were trying to test me for fentanyl.
I ended up leaving because the nurse yanked my arm so hard it made me cry from the fractured ribs, which was confirmed when I went to kaiser the next day. I assume the other hospital had AI read my x-rays. I then found out in December that I had a stroke that caused my fall.
With all the medical stuff in the past year, including sepsis and kidney stones, and I live alone so no one to help me file sooner, would an extension possibly be allowed?
Thank you!
