Keep or remove cervix?

After reading recovery stories here and hearing stories from friends, maybe the recovery is easier if I keep my cervix and don’t have the uterus removed from my vagina. My doctor says she likes to remove the cervix, but I’ve never had any issue with my cervix and there’s no history of cervical cancer in my family.
So, I’m curious - how many have kept vs removed their cervix and how was recovery?
