Truly grateful
Hi all,
I just wanted to share really quickly my whole new grad experience. I’ll preface this and say that I feel very lucky and I know that there are a lot of instances where others have struggled at work, or let alone getting a job, but I wanted to just share a small glimpse of a light at the end of the tunnel.
I work nights on a med/surg tele floor and was honestly terrified at the start. I did my bsn abroad so my clinical exposure already was very minimal, with most of my previous CNA experience being correctional. I felt like I truly knew nothing for practical skills, but MAN, my coworkers are truly the best.
I work with truly such kind people who have really just given me the best environment to grow my skills and be confident. From my preceptor who really is the best person to teach me, to the other RNs I work with and even to the PCAs and CAR/STAT team that round all floors or respond to rapids. I look up to all of them. They all make work so much fun to be at too, and I honestly couldn’t believe that I could laugh so hard in between all the trauma of this job.
I have learned so much and still learning so much, but I just can’t get over how grateful I am for their support and kindness.. I’ll be transferring to a different hospital system this coming Nov, because of a ICU fellowship I got into, but really, even if I had not gotten it, I really would have been perfectly fine with the job I have now.
I’m hoping the best for everyone else’s situation, but just wanted to share how there are really good situations out there. That’s all :)
