smells like swimsuit?

i recently got my mercari orders (yay!!!) of the liz lisa sailor setup and a noemie blouse. Super duper cute and im so happy with them. But they both smell like swimsuit? Is it just cuz of the material used? More importantly is there a way to get rid of the smell?
