Why are so many people getting Google interviews?

I’ve been seeing so many Google interview posts here, and while I know that it’s survivorship bias, I see and get notified for more posts about Google interviews than any other interview.

I ask this because I am also one of these people who have a Google interview. I was wondering if they are very liberal with who gets the interviews and cutthroat with giving out internships or if they just have a really big intern class.

I initially assumed that the bottleneck of candidates happens when they decide to give out interviews, but with the amount of posts I’ve been seeing about it I’m not too sure anymore. Hopefully my interview goes well, because with the amount of posts I’ve been seeing I can only assume that the competition is still very high even after the interview stage.
