Genuinely what was Capcom smoking when they made Elders Recess?

This is a me issue most likely, but I absolutely despise the lava zones. Especially the zone where the floor breaks and magma spills everywhere. I've been trying to hunt Azure Rathalos, And I keep fainting because I mistime a dodge, and the lunge with his claws, poisons me.. And then I fall in the lava, and burn before I can even get up. Idk, I just find the area extremely annoying. The only thing I like from the lava zone is how easy it is to get the mount.
