Manager Opinion Inteviewing, Medical Accomodation Needs
I left a lab facing role for a little over a year due to health issues but since am looking for a new role due to changes with the role and management from when I started. My health issue though chronic has gotten much better than when I left the lab originally. I mainly left the lab because I really liked my team and did not want to bog others down due to my needs in terms of appointments, treatment trials, and just plain being sick since lab facing you need to be on site doing the work, and I was in a really bad state for about 2 years. Now I am thinking about going back to the lab, and many require full site attendance now, even among quality roles I am seeing that a lot too. As a manager would you see a candidate as an issue for needing 1 day remote per week for medical treatments at the hospital that take 2.5-3H. I can work remotely from there no problem, but I can only get treatments 7-3, typically they schedule 8-11am because they have specific patients for the 7am slots and cant take anyone after 12pm because of the length of timing for treatment. Also, if you needed to know this, when should I say something in the process? I dont want to immediately get bumped due to something I cant prevent or cure but I also like to be open/transparent which sadly in the past has burned me.
