Urinary incontinence worsening; urology is blaming PTSD but I don't understand how that works; should I get a second opinion
I've been dealing with worsening urgency/frequency the past 6 months or so and having frequent accidents. Had a UTI that got treated and it did not improve my symptoms. Urgency/frequency are my only symptoms. The urologist seems convinced that this is a PTSD and alcoholism (6 drinks a day) issue, but that just doesn't make sense to me. I used to drink much, much more and never had issues and how can PTSD in my brain cause me to pee myself?
Like it doesn't only happen when I'm having panic attacks, if it did that would make sense to me. This is an all the time thing.
I was really, really hoping there would be a clear-cut, physical, answer to this, but my urologist seems convinced and she thinks putting a camera up there would be unnecessary. Should I seek a second opinion? The next-nearest urologist is like 2 hours away, so it'll be a big hassle.
Note: I have never received treatment for my PTSD as I can be a bit stubborn, but it's something I'm looking into now.
