What do Wattpad authors think of themselves these days?

I understand being frustrated when readers are quiet or when you're dealing with personal problems, but telling your own readers “have you all literally died?” and “you guys are sitting there so quietly as if none of you exist” is honestly a weird way to show appreciation for the people who support your work.

Your readers are not obligated to constantly prove that they exist just because you’re having a difficult time. They have their own lives too. You can ask for support without making them feel guilty for being quiet.

And calling another author a “so-called author” and asking people to report her because she didn't reply to you? That's taking things way too far. An author not replying to you immediately doesn't automatically mean you've been wronged.

You can express your frustration. You can criticize. But don't drag your own readers into it and then guilt-trip them for not reacting the way you wanted.

If an author wants respect from readers, that respect should go both ways. And if you genuinely believe another author has violated Wattpad's rules, use the proper reporting system instead of turning your followers into a reporting squad.
