Christian Craighead is a hero, but he (and Shawn Ryan) are missing the real reason the MoD wants him quiet

Craighead did the right thing as a human being on the day. The UK government still has good reason not to want it held up as a model, because if host nations start expecting British special forces to step into their domestic crises, eventually one of those interventions goes wrong and drags the UK into a conflict it never agreed to. That's not a cover-up; it's basic foreign policy.

Countries can trap UK special forces, get them killed, coherse, influence etc. They want adherence as much as possible, thats the politics of the military

Craighead was in Kenya on a training and liaison role. He wasn't there as part of a British combat deployment. When the attack kicked off, he went in. It worked out. But from the UK government's point of view, the lesson a foreign government could take from this story is terrible:

"If there's a British special forces guy in our country and things go bad, he'll jump in."

Thats the reason. Not because of "Liberal" politics (they call it social in europe), or because they are "jealous". be smarter people. Politics 101
