Associtate told boss I am insecure

As a junior lawyer, would you prefer your associate to tell you that your boss is still considering to retain you, especially when you still have a 2-3 months left in your probation?

I personally think it's whatever but I'm just more irritated at the fact that my associate told my boss that I'm anxious about whether I'll be retained and how he thinks of me.
