Title: Is secretly recording a conversation illegal in India?

I had a conversation at a private hospital in Hoshiarpur regarding my mother’s health insurance. There were four people present — me, my father, and two hospital representatives.
I secretly recorded the conversation on my phone without informing them. They still have no idea that I recorded it.
Is it illegal in India to record a conversation without the other participants’ knowledge or consent when I am myself part of the conversation?
Does it make any difference that it happened in a private hospital?
