ER for positive Romberg?

25f, 5’4, 105lb, Wellbutrin 300mg, diagnosis includes fibromyalgia and “ineffective esophageal motility”

I work in a drs office, a dr I work with said I was standing weird/stumbling and had me do this “Romberg” test. I was not able to keep my balance with my eyes closed. I had an appt with my rheumatologist for fibromyalgia follow up like two weeks later so I decided to wait and ask her about it, if it was related to fibromyalgia.

When I told her about it (today), she said it was not related to fibromyalgia and told me to go to the ER. Is there any neurology people that could tell me if that’s typical/warranted? I declined but agreed to a neurology consult.

Obviously now I’m slightly more concerned, but I’ve already been on the ring-around-the-referral train and am pretty tired of drs appts that usually provide 100% normal tests. I don’t want to go to the ER and sit in there for like, however many hours, just to probably get a brain mri or something then sent home because it’s normal. Especially since this has been happening for at least two weeks, but probably months if not even years? It’s not like I frequently do the stance of the romberg so really could not even guesstimate when this would’ve onset. Google says stuff like b12 deficiency but I take a multivitamin that has b12 so I doubt that, and I don’t have vertigo/hearing loss so doubt it would be related to ENT?
