You probably suck at the Divination mini-game

I built a solver for the Crystal Spheres event mini-game. It works by converting all the rewards into an equivalent gold value (Doubt is worth negative gold). The gold values are of course completely subjective, and you can set them to whatever you think the rewards are worth in your runs. I configured some default values, if you think there are better default values let me know.

The solver plays in a way to maximize the gold value gained. It samples many possible boards (this is configurable) to see what line gains the most gold. Warning! The recommended number of samples is to get consistent results, but may take a while on mobile or slower PCs. Start with lower values and work your way up if unsure.

Some interesting findings: it seems that going first move in the center is preferred by the solver. It is possible that by tweaking the gold values you could get a different result. The 1x1 divination option is used less than 0.1% of the time, I recommend leaving it off to increase solve speed. In cases where the negative value of Doubt is very large, the solver will start to use the 1x1 size.

Practice Mode: test your skills verse the solver. It will give you the gold difference between your move and the best move found by the solver. Go back and try a new move or keep playing as is. Get a report on your total gold loss, as well as average gold loss over many games.

Solve my game: Input your actual in-game guesses, then drag the rewards you see in-game into the same spots on the solve. Click the "solve" button below to get your next move.

Analyze: click through a solution just to explore

Disclaimer: This is not a perfect strategy but it is very likely better than a human could ever do. The gold values shown in the heatmap are not exact, there is some noise (increased by lower number of samples). The solver only maximizes average gold gained, it does not care about best or worst case scenarios. If you think you have a better divination strategy, we can go head to head on thousands of boards to see who gets more value. Maybe this can turn into a community competition!

Anways have a play around with it and see what you discover. Unfortunately solvers like this don't tell you why they make moves, it's up to us to interpret.
