drop your SaaS. i’ll test whether AI thinks of it before you tell it the name
not another landing page roast.
i’ve been testing something a little stranger.
marketing has this old concept called “mental availability” — basically, knowing a brand exists is different from actually thinking of it when a buying situation happens.
i’m starting to think AI assistants now have their own version of that.
ChatGPT can know exactly what your product does when you give it the name…
and still never think of you when someone just describes the problem.
so drop your SaaS below.
for the first ~10-15 I’ll:
look at the site first and figure out who the actual buyer seems to be
come up with a few situations where that person would realistically start looking for something like it
ask ChatGPT / Gemini / Claude / Perplexity without mentioning your company
and reply here with:
whether you appeared
who showed up instead
whether the models understood your category properly
and the most interesting gap I can see
no need to sign up for anything.
just drop:
url + one sentence on who you think buys it
also full disclosure because reddit is reddit: I’m building a product around this methodology. but I’d rather make the thread useful on its own than turn it into a pitch.
curious how many products are technically “known” by AI but completely absent from the situations where somebody would actually discover them.
