Hey guys! Studying and working in the UK first, then moving to Australia. What are my options?

Hi everyone,

I’m from India and I originally planned to study in Australia, but I couldn’t proceed with the Australian student visa because of financial/financial eligibility issues at the time.

I have now got a UK student visa. My plan is to study in the UK for 1 year and then work there for around 2 years to gain international work experience.

My long-term goal is to move to Australia and eventually settle there.

What would be the realistic pathway for someone in my situation?

For example:

• Could I apply for an Australian student visa later after studying in the UK?
• Could my UK education and work experience help me qualify for an Australian skilled/work visa?
• Would 2 years of UK work experience in IT/Cloud Computing/DevOps count toward Australian skilled migration?
• Are there specific skills, qualifications, or occupations I should focus on during my time in the UK?
• What Australian visa pathways should I research over the next 3–5 years?

I’m mainly looking for advice from people who understand Australian immigration or have followed a similar India → UK → Australia pathway.
