Treatments for varroa.

I'm a beekeeper from Northern Victoria. I've found verroa in my hives a couple of weeks ago. A few questions for you guys.

1. What treatment do you use and why? If possible I'd like to steer away from synthetic treatments. It seems formic pro is popular.
2. What is your experience with non chemical treatment methods like breaking brood cycles or using a mesh base?
3. Have you used verroa resistant queens? Does it work well? I've been told this helps but treatment is still needed to help control mite load from time to time.
4. What does your treatment plan look like in an average year?
