38M(Midwest US) introvert putting myself out there

Hi all, 38-year-old male living in the Midwest, happily partnered, have two step-kids and two dogs. I also work full time and don't have a lot of time for making friends or meeting people.

That being said, I'm more of an introvert and I'm a homebody anyway and I value my peace over anything. But lately I've been wanting to put myself out there and meet some cool people for chat and make potential friendships, totally platonic of course.

I prefer to chat or make a potential friendship with other guys just because I feel like I click with men better and I'm totally cool if you don't live in my part of the country or the world. It's okay if it's just an online friendship but I would really love that kind of friendship where we can feel comfortable talking to each other about anything. We can vent to each other, talk about our aspirations, talk about nothing at all, share stupid memes and funny jokes, and build each other up and be there for each other. That would be cool to have something like that. I feel like that's missing in my life.

A little bit more about me, interest-wise:

-I like TV and some movies.

-I like to read although I'm having a hard time finding anything to read right now.

-I like video games, especially some of the older stuff.

-I love watching stupid random funny videos on TikTok at late hours.

-I like watching YouTube and going down rabbit holes.

-Love a good podcast. If you have any ideas let me know.

There are probably other things too but they're escaping me right now.

You don't have to like all or any of the same things I do. I'm glad to get to know somebody with different interests and get to learn something new!

I feel like this is pretty long-winded but if any guys are down for a chat buddy, maybe even a potential platonic friendship, definitely let me know. It's kind of scary putting myself out here like this, trying to make friends at this stage in life, but figured I'd give it a shot.
