A first aid seizure training course defined Epilepsy as a "disease".

Rant

I have tonic clonic and absence seizures. I'm subbing soon and the district wants me to take a seizure training first aid course? Sure! I know my stuff. But the introduction...defining Epilepsy as a disease...that's just...

Am I correct to be very pissed off by this description? Because the last I checked, it's a seizure disorder, and for some of us, it's a disability. It just boils my blood knowing other teachers and subs are misinformed just by a single...either intentional input or unintentional grammatical error.

This was designed and researched by the Epilepsy Alliance America, and a Medical School that has a pretty solid neurology department (not so much a neurologist cause I left him lol). I left a lengthy comment in the feedback section that this needs to be fixed cause...THE AUDACITY???
