thoughts on mockingjay part 2??

hello! i do not mean to offend anyone with this post, but i only just started watching the hunger games this week and have read a little bit of the first book, and i enjoyed the first few movies but i didn’t really like mockingjay part 2. maybe this is because i haven’t read the books or maybe i just didn’t understand, but i wanted to see others thoughts on the movie.

in my opinion, it felt like important scenes were missing, things that were mentioned but weren’t explained and seemed like we were supposed to just know (which if you read the books it probably would make sense), and seemed rushed. i really wasn’t a fan of how we didn’t actually get to see katnisses reaction to prims death and how haymitch was barely in it.

also as i had said before i’ve only read a bit of the first book, but it bothered me a bit that katniss and prims dad wasnt really in the movie at all considering i thought he was pretty important. it didnt show her mom’s depression, really nothing about peeta giving katniss bread, peetas dad giving katniss cookies, and so on. i might just be nitpicking but i thought it would be nice for those details to be in the movie.

i know they can’t fit every detail in the book into a 2 hour movie, but like i said i still would have liked to see it.

my last thing is katnisses relationship with both peeta and gale seemed forced. i tried to pick a side but it was hard when to me she didn’t really have chemistry with either of them.

i really do love the hunger games and the movies convinced me to actually read the books. this is no hate towards the movies or any of the characters, just my personal opinions and i wanted to see if anyone else felt the same :)
