Is society this hostile to men?

I was just doing some research on transfer stuff earlier today for transfer requirements for schools I would like to transfer to. Out of the many schools one of them was Cornell. Then while searching for it I then saw some social media post about something bad that happened. That lead me down to a rabbit hole that caused me to cry. Like I understand that situation was bad but how am I a random guy halfway across the country who literally never heard about this until today at fault or anything to do with it. Why do people scape goat half the human population over bad actors. This is just like politics where people scapegoat specific groups of people to justify bigotry. Like as a man who simply going to school wanting to find a gf and someday having a family it makes me feel every women I would be into would assign a random person onto me to hate me and not see me for who I am. Im an individual living my own life, like how is this my fault or responsibility. Do we not see people as individuals anymore but as groups??
