for the record, i personally define someone who has the freedom motif in one of three ways:

\- jevil-like: believes they are free but are actually just as trapped as everyone else OR in reality are the one(s) thatre trapped

\- spamton-like: the most common type, they have some ultimate goal or desire and are willing to do whatever to achieve it, but usually ends up with some horrible thing happening to them or others in the process

\- gerson-like: the rarest type, are truly free

\- pink-like: have some desire relating to themselves personally, but despite their efforts can never achieve it for one reason or another

EXAMPLES:

**- Marx (Kirby)** wanted ultimate power and wanted to go to any lengths to get it, but became this horrible demon spawn in the process (spamton-like)

**- Zorah/Noir Dedede (Kirby Air Riders)** wanted to be free to move on their own accord, got their wish at the cost of being turned into gigantes and noir dedede (spamton-like)

**- The Surgeon (Endacopia)** believes hes truly free and has a plan to free everyone, but hes actually just as trapped as everyone else (jevil-like)

**- Zant (Zelda: Twilight Princess)** he also wanted ultimate power and went as far as to take ganondorf's help, but ended up going insane from it (spamton-like)

**- Caine (TADC)** he wanted nothing but to have the circus members love him and see him as a best friend, but his complete inability as an AI to understand humans made that almost impossible (pink-like)

**- Deep Cut and the Mechanic (Splatoon Raiders)** they set out to fix their city's debt problem by collecting treasure from some supposedly uninhabited islands, they got their wish but accidentally awoke a god and set off a biblical prophecy a few thousand years early in the process (spamton-like, although this one's a bit iffy because they DO prevail in the end and theyre also the protagonists and not any kind of antagonist)

**- Ji (Nine Sols)** Ji is (effectively) immortal, and the tianhuo virus pushing his race to extinction has basically no effect on him. despite being burdened with his immortality, he is the one truly free person in this game (gerson-like)

Favorite character from outside of UT/DR that would *probably* have the freedom motif (read post body for explanations)
