Can feel IUD strings during sex?

I have the Kyleena and have had it for about 6 months. I never thought the strings would be an issue but I did hear you can sometimes feel them but they shouldn’t hurt your partner.

Me and my partner were having sex and he brought up that it was painful and this was about the 3rd time he’s said this during sex recently. He said he thought he could feel the string poking him. I didn’t believe it was my iud because I’ve heard it shouldn’t hurt and shouldn’t be an issue and a lot of people don’t even feel it!

I felt for myself with my finger (mind you my finger is 3 inches.. so it’s not far back at all) and sure enough it poked me!! And it was pointy and firm. Definitely understandable why it would hurt. Why is this!? I’ve heard if that happens it could be cut too short but I could feel the strings not deep at all. I don’t know what to do!
