Help with outfit and guns

I really need help making an outfit for airsoft. I've always been interested and decided to try it out. I'm spending up to $650 for my first outfit and guns. I want to try medium or heavy armor it doesn't need to be super nice I just want reliability. Gun types I want to try for the first time: Rifles Semi-auto preferably (switch mode from semi to full would be okay) for my main gun. For sidearm I could use normal handguns, revolvers, or knife. I really need help I don't know good and bad gear. Thanks in advance.
