One thing I strongly agree with the BJP on:
That India's strain of "secularism" is a dysgenic, failed experiment. Secularism means preventing religion from intermingling with governmental, academic, financial and military institutions through any and all means necessary. Allegiance to the nation should take precedence over allegiance to any religion.
India's approach is the complete opposite. Instead of firm enforcement, the country mollycoddles religions incessantly. Consequently, quacks, cultists, demagogues and fanatics are allowed to run amok, wreaking havoc, spreading anti-intellectualism and compromising public order, harmony and efficiency.
And this isn't a partisan issue. Recently, videos from Telangana showed devotees cutting wire to make way for the Ganesha procession as well as dumping idols into waterways after cutting the fences with wirecutters. So don't think that, just because I am critical of the BJP means that I support Congress. I don't and I would prefer 1,000 CCPs over 1 Congress. At the end of the day, one party has no spine and the other has no heart. And both have no brains.
So what's the solution? It's simple: Those that defy public order should be treated as national enemies. Think about it: If a spy from Pakistan was caught using a wire cutter to cut power cables and fences, they would be prosecuted with utmost haste and the media would report on it endlessly. But when saffron extremists do the same, it gets inconsequential backlash.
But what difference does it make? In both cases, the damage to public order, harmony and infrastructure is the same and taxpayer rupees are wasted on the repairs. In both cases, the individual is putting allegiance to another entity above national interests: The religious fanatic is putting their fanaticism above public welfare while the spy is putting allegiance to another country over national welfare.
