Does it matter if I only take six courses in grade 12?

I originally took 7 courses but I decided to drop a bird course because it wasn’t the course I intended to take since the actual course I wanted to take didn’t run. I’m only taking six courses (2 sciences, 2 maths, 1 eng, 1 humanities). Many people I know fast tracked some grade 12 courses in grade 11 or took some in summer school and I’m wondering if there is any point to doing that? Am I at all disadvantaged for not fast tracking grade 12 courses and taking them on time? I know universities only look at your top six and only taking six 4u courses can be risky for your average, but if I know I can do well then does it matter? I’d much rather have two spares than two courses that take up time but I don’t need for my university plans.
