Tormented Souls 2 thoughts (it's outstanding)

Recently I grabbed Tormented Souls when it was on sale for $1.99 because hey, why not? It ended up being quite a good but heavily flawed RE-like. It started off fun but turned into quite a tedious experience and I was very happy when I finally reach the ending. I enjoyed the story and general RE-ness of it enough to pursue the sequel and hoo boy am I glad I did.

Tormented Souls 2 is simply astonishing. Every single gripe I had with the original has either been completely fixed or considerably improved. The puzzles are no longer needlessly obtuse and flow-killing(mostly), huge enemy variety with significantly better combat behavior, wide variety of unique weapons, easier to read the map, major improvements to voice acting, animations and cutscenes. Anything that could possibly be improved has been improved to a shocking extent.

I can't remember the last time I've seen a sequel take such an enormous leap in quality. It really nails(because she uses a nailer, you see) every gameplay element that makes survival horror addicting and has super high quality presentation to match. Unlike the first game I see myself returning to this one over and over again. Already started my next playthrough on tormented difficulty and I'm very intrigued by the differences NG+ offers as well. If you were unimpressed with the original don't sleep on the sequel! It's one of the best survival horror games of all time in my opinion.
