Not in the sense of he is the peak of Batman, but more that he is DC’s Ultimate Universe, and I don’t mean the recent one with the happy Peter, I mean the OG Ultimate Universe, the dark and edgy Universe.

Remember?

Venom was the cure for cancer made from Richard Parker’s blood, so Peter was wearing his father’s blood. Captain America was angry and racist, “You think this ‘A’ on my forehead stands for France?” And that time he dressed up as Black Panther. Black Widow Natasha Romanoff was a cold-blooded and ruthless Femme Fatale, brutally murdered Clint’s whole family, seduced and attempted to kill Tony Stark, slashed her own wrists to bleed out Nanotech. Then the X-Men, dark and edgy too, Wolverine being over 150, and him seducing and fucking an underage Jean Grey.

And that’s not to mention all the shit in Peter Parker’s life.

All Star Batman had all that dark edginess, him setting s group of criminals on fire and fucking Black Canary in the rain, outright stalking and kidnapping Dick Grayson who was almost brutally murdered in a ditch by dirty cops after his parents were shot in the head by some chubby hitman who Batman hit with tiny batarangs laced with toxic snake venom, and that’s to mention the whole Batmobile car chase with the cops, Bruce laughing and ramming them off the road, ALL OF HIS LAUGHTER!!!!!!!!! Breaking bones for please, his deep, DEEP levels of narcissism, then the JL, Robin breaking GL’s windpipe, and so much more.

And this world is DEFINITELY not the same as The Dark Knight Returns, or Year One, no fucking way, this was a world of its own. Batman wasn’t just the Dark Knight, he was the Black Knight. We hear through Alfred that before his parents died, Bruce used to disappear into the woods for hours, and come back grinning like a wild animal, bleeding from his forehead, holding some dead animal, he was a demon as a kid. And after their death he apparently did self-isolation in that cave, eating rats.

This Batman was rough, edgy, violent, and I loved ALL OF IT!!!!!!!! He is my favourite Batman for countless reasons, and when people call other Batmen the Ultimate ones, I think ‘no’, and immediately think of The Goddamn Batman.

To me, he is the Ultimate Batman!!!!!!

The Goddamn Batman is DC’s Ultimate Batman
