Haven’t been on a board for 15 years.

Gear question

Hello Reddit,

The last time I rode was at Solitude ~15 years ago in my early 20s. My last board was a 2006 K2 Zeppelin that I’ve long since parted ways with. I’m looking to get back into riding this season. After doing a fair bit of Google-fu, it seems that (correct me if I am wrong) the technology for boots/bindings has evolved more than the boards, and boards are more or less still the same, with newer material technologies. Back in the day, I did mostly groomers and tree runs, powder, and a little bit of park riding, and not much in the way of switch riding.

The one thing I loved about the Zeppelin was how it was set back from center, how planted it felt when going through ice and had crazy stability at speed. Insane though it may sound, I kind of enjoyed how the board being so stiff kinda made you work a little harder. I’m in pretty much the same shape (if not better than) I was back in the day, so I’m not worried about having a stiff board again. That said, what’s would be a modern day equivalent or something similar that is in the same vein/style for getting back into riding?

Thanks!
