Meditation comes naturally to me — does anyone else experience this?
I’m curious if anyone else has had a similar experience with meditation.
I recently started meditating again after about 3 years of not doing it. I’ve only been back at it for around two weeks, but I’ve noticed something that honestly surprised me: I seem to have a really easy time entering a very deep state of calm and awareness.
Sometimes it feels like I can go from being caught up in my thoughts to suddenly being completely still inside. My body relaxes, my mind becomes incredibly quiet, and I feel very present. It doesn’t feel like I’m forcing it or trying particularly hard.
What’s really interesting is that after only two weeks of meditating again, I already feel noticeably calmer and more serene in my everyday life. (I’m diagnosed with chronic anxiety and dpdr but suddenly In not feeling anxiety and the dpdr is not there anymore ) I was going through a pretty difficult period before I started again (like I said with my anxiety and dpdr) and somehow meditation has become one of the things that helps me get through it. It genuinely feels like it’s helping me a lot.
And I’ve started trying to meditate while I’m awake and going about my normal day, not just sitting with my eyes closed. I’ll remind myself to come back to the present moment, notice what I’m doing, feel my surroundings, and simply observe my thoughts passing by without immediately following them.
It’s almost like I’m learning that I don’t always have to do something with every thought that comes into my mind.
I’m wondering if some people naturally have an easier time entering these deeper states of awareness than others? Or does it mostly come with practice?
