How to become disciplined as a lazy, phone addict 20yo student?
Im 20F and I need a serious change in my life. Im in my final year of university, which means I need to find a way to balance my studying, assignments, part time job, dissertation and such. Im currently averaging a 2:1 Grade (B+) which is alright, but I want to push it to a first (A/A+).
The issue is, I'm a lazy girl. I procrastinate everything until the last minute because if I don't have the pressure of a rapidly approaching deadline, I genuinely struggle to bring myself to care about things. Almost all of my assignments were written 8 hours before the deadline, and while they get decent grades, thats just not the type of student I want to be. Especially in final year, where time management matters most.
My screentime averages 7-9 hours each day, scrolling on reels and tiktok. Its the first thing i do in the morning and the last thing before i go to sleep. I sleep and study in a small room which gets incredibly messy very easily, which I can find quite draining. i feel like I'm constantly in some sort of mental fog, and its really ruining my satisfaction with life.
I love reading, but never read. I love writing, but never write. I am supposed to be a devout catholic, but rarely attend church, read my bible or pray. Sometimes because I wake up too late, other times because I woke up early enough, but doom scrolled in bed for 3 hours. The only thing that gets me out of bed on the weekends is that I have work.
This sort of lifestyle has made it difficult to care about ANYTHING. and i need change, but where can I start? I feel Im a lost cause, and its started to become really depressing.
