I am looking for some advice on selling a website I own. It is profitable and has zero direct competitors. (x-post from r/entrepreneur)

I run a website/store/service that I am considering selling. I am not going to share the name or specific niche as it would give away some info that I would like to keep private for the moment. I realize the consternation that will give some of the people on this sub. Sorry.

The website is a subscription service that has 50+ members. It revenues $600-$750/month with a 40%-60% profit margin. There has been very little paid advertising and a few posts on relevant forums to get the business to the point it is at. The fulfillment is handled in house currently and takes 10 to 15 hours per month to handle. With a little more size using a fulfillment service is possible.

Reasons for considering selling are strictly personal time issues. The business is interesting and in a growing niche. But I have 2 websites that I run, 1 service business that I run, and a job that I work. The other website I run is not to the point where it is big enough to consider selling and the service business is just not sellable. So it leaves me with the above business to sell.

A few questions:

  • Is the above business a potentially appealing purchase?

  • Where is a good place to sell the business?

  • What is the income from this venture worth?

  • What am I missing?

Again I realize that the vague nature of this post will upset some people. But I am not entirely sure that I want to sell the site/I don't have a damn clue what goes into selling a site/business. I would be happy to answer any questions that I can.
