Get Geared For PvP Fast

Hey Guys,

I have been working up a guide on getting my friend geared up to be semi decent in pvp as quickly as possible, and thought I would share it here since there are so many people boosting characters.

Speed gearing:

  • If you saved 4000 honor before dinging 90, get 2 trinkets first (chest and shoulders have best stats per point, so you should use conquest points to get these) +2

  • Go to timeless isle, get burning chest, and two smoldering chests +1 (and a few 496 pieces as well), I think this is easiest if you are an engineer and use the glider.

  • Use the 535 item boost on: necklace, cloak, rings, or bracers.

  • Grind out 50 Lesser Charm of Good Fortune, get 3 Warforged Seals kill the Celestial and hope for good loot. +1

  • Equip the 4 crafted pieces ilevel 522+ (head, boots, leggings, and belt) (unless u got a drop for one of those slots) +4

  • Grind out 4800 conquest points (assuming week 4) and buy chest / shoulders, save the rest for weapon in two weeks. +2

  • Grab a mogu rune of fate, jump in LFR and kill the first boss in ToT. (Not sure if this is doable, how easy it is, etc., as I dont do much raiding, but I pull north of 200k dps, so I think I can make up for my friends lack of dps in raid.) +1

  • Honor grinding to fill out remaining pieces of gear, should need about 6k to cap out.

a. Tol baraad: +900

b. Karasang wilds +825

c. Wintergrasp: +500 ([edit] 10/25 man heroic VoA for 750 honor and mount drops after Wintergrasp)

d. Random Qs

Anyhow, I am going to try this out with a friend next week, any other ideas on how to get gear ilvl 522+ easy mode would be greatly appreciated!

Soloing Vault of Arch with a pet class (because Arch aggro dumps and resets on grab) takes about 15 mins and is good for ~750 honor or so, plus mount drops.

I didnt realize this place grants honor! Thanks, thats good info ~

On a related note: in 10 man heroic / 25 man heroic bosses have a chance to drop the three seater mount =] (oh u mentioned this already)

Just a warning though, that honor is for 25m and is split amongst party members, so I'd take 2 people if you need it at most.

Thanks for the info =]

If you get a decent group out of trade, speed pulling tank, 3 dps that are around 540+ (helps carry fresh 90's lack of dps), and a decent healer, you can clear Heroic dungeons in ~4-6 minutes per dungeon, which puts you at JP cap ~45 mins which is 2k honor ~45 mins. I'm from illidan horde side so my Q times are ~15 mins as it is, then if you MIGHT get 300? It's just super super quick and way less annoying. Just a suggestion :)

Yeah, dungeon queueing is an option, but neither of us are huge fans of dungeon grinding, which is why we were aiming for: getting geared to the point where jumping in BGs wont be painful, as soon as possible.

Buy crafted blues and jump in

I get that but a couple hours of heroics sure beats a week full of dailies :(

I do agree that this would be the fastest option for farming straight honor ~

But the goal of this exercise is to jump straight into pvp asap, so we are mostly looking for easy mode gear ilvl 522+, after those get capped out we will be jumping into bgs for farming simply because we enjoy it more.

Even as a healer, I am waiting 8-12 minutes for bgs, when heroics are ~3-5 minute queue. I managed to do 2-3 bgs yesterday in the time it took me to run 10-12 heroics. DPS tanks, with 1M HP, pulling up to the bosses, and not even dropping below 90% hp FTW. If you aren't good at arenas, then finding a group to speed grind 5 mans is the easiest way to go, even if you can find a tank and let pugs fill the rest and enjoy the ride.
