Bronchial Thermoplasty, the final update.

The first and second posts for the curious.

This time around the pulmonologist and I agreed, no more steroids. Oh my goodness, throughout these three procedures I've taken so many steroids that I'm just now starting to get back into a regular sleeping pattern. As a result, I didn't bounce back quite as quickly but even feeling my worst after the procedures was better than my best before the procedures.

It took about three weeks before I felt fine after the last Bronchial Thermoplasty. Today I ran at a local park, my first run without pre-treating with Albuterol as well as my longest run since getting sick a year ago at 2.66 miles. Despite being outdoors, out of shape, and running up hills I did not cough, I did not have mucous build up in my throat, and I did not need an inhaler after my workout.

This has been an amazing experience. It's almost as if I don't even have asthma at all. Two inhalers a day and a pill, I think I can manage that for the rest of my life. In one month I go for my last follow up to see if I can bring it down to one inhaler, my QVAR. Thank you for all you've done for me Foradil, but you and your shakiness has to go!
