Spawn Book Club - Issues 55 | 56 | 57 - May 4th, 2014 - May 10th, 2014

Maybe it's Spawn Book Club, maybe it's not.

Whatever it is, it's fun to read.

This week we've got Wynn being a dick (as usual), Spawn being kick-ass (as usual), and giant cybernetic simian ripping everything to rat-shit. How could you resist?

Beware spoilers in the thread, and grab the digital copies while you can!

Let's get down to it.

What we're reading this week:

Issue 55 - Sabotage

• When Terry meets with Spawn to plan their mission, he tries to understand his friend's chosen hideout as well as their new-found friendship. When he stumbles onto the worms, Al's reaction confuses even more. Terry and Al carry out their mission to document Wynn's involvement in the arms trade. Upon seeing the evidence, Al sends an explosive message to implicate and endanger Wynn's global network infrastructure.

Issue 56 - Kahn

• Major Forsberg, a military strategist, has been kidnapped and imprisoned by Jason Wynn, a key figure in U.S. foreign intelligence. Forsberg had determined the insights of the great conqueror Genghis Kahn and relayed some of this to Wynn. When Forsberg denied having full knowledge, his family is murdered by Wynn. Forsberg believes that Wynn is inhabited by Kahn's spirit. Spawn frees Forsberg from Wynn's prison. Meanwhile, Clown continues to direct Wynn to destroy Spawn and Cy-Gor awaits Spawn's return to Rat City.

Issue 57 - The Beast

• Although extremely traumatized, Forsberg, the military strategist, is successfully transported to Spawn's alley for safekeeping until Terry and Al figure out how to use him to their advantage against Wynn. When Cy-Gor makes a surprise attack on Spawn, Forsberg huddles in the background watching the battle. He then returns to reality with some startling information about Cy-Gor's origin and connection to Wynn.
