Current State of DPS.

So, with the recent patch and the release coming real soon I'd like to hear your opinions/theorycrafting on how the classes are going to perform in comparison to one another and finalize my choice.

After the recent nerf to stalkers, who do you think is going to be the king of single-target DPS? Is it the warrior? Esper? Or is the stalker going to keep the crown just by switching the build away from shred?

How does it help you finalize your choice? A month after launch it might as well be reverted, having the higher DPS now be the lower DPS then. Rather just stick to what you like, eventually they will be very close in terms of DPS if balancing is done right.

To be completely blunt : I'm a dps whore. I generally like all classes, and the deciding factor at the moment is the class performance at the moment. It MIGHT be reverted after a month, but it also might be not. From what we could see in other big MMOs like WoW - you could wait for months upon months for those changes.

Information which you seek is unavailable to the general public. There is no top dps class at the moment.

It's different in beta and the first few months after release, though. Heavy fluctuations in balance happens. I'm still going to assume that Stalkers have the highest single target DPS after the patch, though.

I guess you do have a point, seeing the transparency Carbine have shown so far. And no-shred t4ruin+t4ck stalker might be as viable.

Espers have a new ability where they just look at someone and their head explodes. They win.

Espers have always had this ability, they just made it easier for the non-hardcore to use it. Now it's like every Esper you see if just popping peoples skulls left and right, until some melee comes along and hits them in the back once, then they're dead.

Yep, making your choice over pre-launch status of classes is just ridiculously silly, since it's all bound to change and get tweaked eventually.

Just pick a class you LIKE to play, instead of the 'best one at beta'? Yea, ok.

It will be whoever can fucking play the class to its limits, which by judging from your I-Just-Play-The-Flavor-Of-The-Month attitude, probably not you.

There is no issue with seeing which classes are OP and which are UP... How else do you think Carbine nerfs/buffs classes? Most people are playing this game to raid, and if stalkers are so bad due to teh nerfs that no one will take them in raids, that makes a huge difference. That is one of the main reasons I'm not rolling a warrior, because no one wants them to tank.

You're correct up until the bleeding edge of progression, where everyone can play everything perfectly. There, whichever class has the highest theoretical dps, also has the highest dps, and raid groups stack as many of that class as possible.

Yeah, somewhat. I used to play in top 100 eu guilds in wow, where every player played the class to it's limits, and players whose classes performed the worst had to either reroll or be replaced by current fotm. I'm used to playing that way, and i don't want to feel subpar.

Play something you LIKE not something that is OP this patch. Believe me top guilds hate people like you that reroll every month just to play the most OP class and roll on everyones gear every time. Gtfo these fotm posts are pissing me off

Uhh, no, they do not. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.
