Captured a couple silhouetted against Lincoln Center. Girl gave me a sketch what she hope I captured, and ran off! (Cross post to r/pics)

Don't post: pictures of people taken without their consent
its a silhouette....
true, but it's still corny.. which is the other half of the reason behind this rule.
I think that rule is there because of "look at the weirdo I saw on the subway" posts.
I think the point of the story was the unusual note-handing-and-running-off, which has kind of a NY bend to it. I don't think we're critiquing the actual photos here.
Story: May 22nd, Thursday night I was at Lincoln center taking photos when a couple ended up framed perfectly in front of the fountain. I ended up getting some great silhouette shots of the happy couple. As I was packing up, a girl ran up to me, handed me a small envelope, then ran off before I could say anything. When I got home I looked at the envelope which read "What I hope you captured", and opened it to see a quick sketch of what I had just captured in my photos! Maybe these photos will find their way to you mystery couple. :) Bonus: Another image from my photography expodition that night.
Why wouldn't you go up to them and show them the photo and get their info to send it to them?
I probably would have, but as I was packing up the girl ran up, handed me an envelope and before I could say anything she ran off! I immediately thought she had put down her email address.
Fair enough. Hope I didn't come across as a dick. I was genuinely curious why you didn't give them these shots. It's really great!
Because photogs are lurkers.

Love the photos. If you don't mind me asking, what is the exif data for the last shot (the one with skyscrapers)

the lake for sure
Thanks. :) The last photo was taken on The Lake in Central Park facing south, here to be precise. ISO 100, 18mm, 15 sec, f 8.0 on Nikon d3200.
Thanks, I don't know why, but your photo looks like its in the future.
What about the 5th picture?
From your EXIF, sounds like you did all this on a basic kit camera, which is cool because I just bought an entry recently and want to do more of this.
5th pic was ISO 100, 86mm, 3 sec, f 22.
You can def take great pics with an entry level kit like I am using. I got the Nikon d3200, which came with a 18-55mm lens and a 55-200mm lens. I got a 35mm f/1.8 lens also for $200. I HIGHLY recommend you also get a nice 35mm or 55mm lens. For the long exposures, the kit lenses did well enough. But a good prime lens can help you get nice sharp pictures in fairly low light even.
