How do you close out games?

Hi, I'm really having a hard time closing out games even when we get ahead. We get objectives like Dragon, Towers (up to T2 usually), and Baron, but I really have a hard time closing out games. I'm currently D4 in SoloQ 5v5 in the PH server, and sometimes I just make really bad calls that make us lose the game. How do I improve my decision making when we get ahead?

how you close out the game? kill the nexus

if you have baron group as 5 and push 1 lane yourself (make sure all other lanes are pushing for you aswell) or let someone push bot/top and the rest of your team push top/bot. if you know you are stronger. FIGHT. engage on them.

It depends on your team comp: If you have hard engage, with baron buff, just brute force those towers. The baron regen is enough to get your health back between minion waves. So get one inhibitor down, wait for the super minions and when they get in, do the same for a second inhibitor. If you manage to get a kill on a carry, brute force the nexus towers. A poke comp relies on getting vision when sieging and bring their carries down on health and engage while they are low health or they go to fountain. Just remember to work with your minions (they can absorb skill shots) and don't overstay when low in health. When retreating, clean out the jungle to deny gold and xp

There are other objectives than mid inhibitor.

  • Ward top jungle, and go for top turret with a big wave bottom.
  • Ward bottom jungle, and go for bottom turret with a big wave top.
  • Get a pick (By waiting in jungle, catching somebody, etc.), and take the closest turret.
  • ward bottom jungle and take dragons.
  • ward top jungle, get a pick or 2, and take baron.

You want to get whatever objective is easiest when you can, and when you have an advantage, use it to force fights in your favor. It's really easy to lose focus and let the game stretch on, so you have to keep the big picture in mind all the time.
