Review of Puckerfish flavors
Just under 2 weeks ago I saw the post Humble Beginnings from a new juice company called Puckerfish and their tempting offer to send some samples out for review. Well, I'm always up for trying some new flavors so I sent him a message. Seems like a really nice guy who is very obviously passionate about his product. A few days ago I got my package and inside I found 5 Puckerfish flavors to review: Watermelon, Mmm Melons, Banana Cream Pie, Fruit Yogurt Smoothie, and Peppermint.
These samples were my preferred 6mg strength but mixed at a ratio of 70PG/30VG (not my preferred ratio but I didn't request a specific ratio either.) I don't mind some throat hit so into the .35ohm Tobh atty it went! Throat hit was far more intense (as expected) but I wasn't put off by it and the flavor really came shining through on each of them.
On to the review:
Watermelon If your looking for a clean natural watermelon flavor, this is it. It literally tastes as if fresh slices of watermelon had been sitting in the VG/PG mixture long enough for the flavor to soak right in. Not intense, not candy sweet, just really natural! I'll call it my 3rd favorite juice of the 5.
Mmm Melons This one reminded me of fresh Cantalope. It's not overpowering but the flavor is there and unmistakable. I'm not generally a big fan of this type of flavor but it's not bad. (I have sampled a few here and there from friends or at vape shops.) This isn't your melon candy type of juice, it tastes like the actual fruit without any hint of chemicals or perfumes to get in the way.
Banana Cream Pie I couldn't taste any pie crust in there so I'm not sure about the name on this one. Banana Cream may have been more appropriate. That said, it's actually a pretty good flavor. It's unmistakably banana and quickly fills the room with it's wonderful scent. People usually have to ask me what flavor I'm vaping when they smell it in the air but not with this one! Again, a really natural non-artificial banana flavor dominates this one. I'll call it my second favorite juice of the 5.
Fruit Yogurt Smoothie Unlike the Banana Cream Pie this one deserves its name completely. It's not just a mixed berry flavor like some other brands I've tried. The berries are there and they're unmistakable but then you can actually taste yogurt along with it. I didn't really expect it to be so pronounced but this flavor really is spot on. I like it, I like it a lot. My favorite flavor of the 5!
Peppermint When it comes to ejuice... I hate menthol, I hate most mint flavors, find wintergreen's horrifying, and I despise whatever else is sometimes used to produce a cooling effect. The only mint juice I could ever actually enjoy was Bombies A Real Nightmare. This Peppermint is an odd one for me and I honestly can't decide if I like it yet. It tastes just like an Altoid peppermint. For awhile after I was done vaping it, the fresh cool feeling remained and was going all down my throat. I was ready to put it down and then I had another pull, and one more, and then one final pull. I still don't know if I like it but I don't hate it!
Final thoughts: In the end I feel like Puckerfish is making some good quality juice. The flavors used all taste very natural and there's no trace of chemicals or perfume to ruin it. Would I order juice from them? Yeah, I think I might have to try a few. I'm thinking I'd like to try Fruit Yogurt Smoothie, Banana Cream Pie, and Watermelon again at their 20PG/80VG ratio and see how that works for me.
