Anyone else choke?

So you scout the board, have your move all planned out and then during the execution something just doesn't click right and you miss your combo? That happen to anyone else?

So I've spend 200 stamina on Satan today and choked all four times. Stupid stuff every time too, first time got to satan but didn't stall enough so menace wasn't up until after he buffed... second time I missed one yellow orb on Lilith still made the combo but she had a sliver left and killed me. Third time I tried to stall on the Kraken and only did enough damage to kill one, then still had a turn left to combo again but it just didn't do enough damage to kill the second one. And just now I had an awesome set up on cerberus but just choked for no reason at all...

I only choke when I actually plan my moves.

Freaking this, man. I mess up all the time when I try to be smart and take more time than usual to try and get the best possible outcome.

I have a perfect plan and then as I'm in the middle of executing I panic and my finger stops moving.

sometimes i clank the combo after U&Y activation

sometimes i consider cutting off my finger for insubordination

Nothing will make you feel dumber than messing up a DQXQ activation after using her active. There's only 4 things on the board, how the hell do I forget to match one of them?

7
HaLire396394229•

Autopilot U&Y activations hurt me pretty bad

like, all you had to do is count 3 light and 3 dark and you couldn't even do that how do you breathe

Amyndris309254222•

What I hate is when I go full retard and pop my Yomi and realize there isn't even 3 light or 3 dark on the board.

WTF brain?

My favorite is when I pop the active before actually looking at the board and realize there's only 2 greens left.

I totally choked on Satan today. Twice.

First time I took Vamp in as a low CD changer on my Pandora team. Didn't get enough dark orbs to get past Krakens. There goes 50 stam to a bone head mistake.

Second time, I'd swapped out Vamp for Ronia and my skill level 2 Hanzo got me to Lilith thanks to the two extra skill boosts. I'd eaten a hit from Lilith intentionally to stall one extra turn so I'd get just about all my skills up before I moved to the vamps thanks to some generous 5 turn counters on Cerberus and 2 on Lilith. I knew I'd hit her enough already trying to bait out light block that a six orb combo for the 9x was all I needed to kill her without wasting the other dark orbs on the board already. So I set it all up and lifted my finger only to realize I'd only made a 5 orb combo and didn't get a multiplier.

I went ahead and stoned since I had all my skills up and knew I could handle the rest of the dungeon, but I did get the first time clear stone back and both Lilith and vamp dropped.

Something about this sub makes people downvote too much. Don't sweat it. Your post was relevant.

I don't really care, I just happened to be back in the thread and noticed I'd gotten a downvote and was just confused. Thanks for the bump tho!

There we go, plus it up for you.

I have no idea what is wrong with some of the users on this sub, but it seems that for what ever reason, if they disagree, or if it takes more than 15 seconds for someone to read through them, it will get down vote by some individuals, don't sweat it.

Dolomite808371,657,256-Kirin/DQXQ/Okuni/WuKong•

It still happens to me from time to time, but the longer I play the less it happens.

I usually happens when I switch from one team to another, so I always do a few warm ups in endless corridors if I'm going to switch teams for a descend.

Turnabout_Things!•

Only tried Satan once today, thought I'd be okay using a Horus with a Kirin friend lead.

Both Kraken were synced at 2 turns upon entering. First 20x only took one down by half, and the orb drop left any necessary orb matches across the board from each other.

I'm not spending more stam on that anytime soon. My luck needs to be slightly better than abysmal.

Yes, constantly. Especially when using Haku or U&Y. I'll do fine in non-serious content, but if my life is on the line I will invariably fail to activate their combos. Usually because of a really dumb mistake too. =/

This is why I generally only run my Ronia or Valk teams for anything...lower risk (but lower reward).

Happens to me sometimes. For some reason I like to make diagonals when I don't need to...

You should use a combo simulator if you really want to get your combos down. That's what I did when I ran Satan. Also, I ran Satan with a lv10 unevo Robin and a bunch of subs. I ran it with a Bastet friend and it took me like 6 hours to finish the dungeon because I was practicing each and every combo like 20 times before I actually did it. One such online combo simulator is pad.dawnglare.com. Luckily I cleared it with no problems at all. Having Robin's 1.5x balanced type buff helped my DPS and also gave me an extra turn to stall (Satan removes buffs whenever you have em).

Dousing_Machine337799210•

When I plan a move out that requires a diagonal I screw it up every time, but when I do it on impulse in the middle of a combo that doesn't matter it always works.

Use the Nike model: "Just do it!"

2
burndout•

i choke all the time, especially when I try some of the "advanced" leads like Anubis or Ra. I'll see the perfect set up, think I have it all lined up...then promptly screw up by moving an orb I shouldn't have.

1
RAIDERNATION•

When I plan my moves and stack combos for skyfall I choke more than I'd like to admit. I have a friend who plans his moves and as he's about to finish he realizes he grabbed the wrong orb. Last time Heracles came around I watched him die around 4 times from this... Not sure how he keeps making that mistake.

1
Dousing_Machine337799210•

My thumb makes that mistake for me. Large hands on a cheap phone with a small screen equals a bad time

The worst is when you activate orb-change combos in the wrong order.

That feeling when you activate hanzo BEFORE ronia... That feeling when you activate dmeta before hanzo on top of activating hanzo before ronia.

1
Dolomite808371,657,256-Kirin/DQXQ/Okuni/WuKong•

Or activate Valk after DQXQ.

2
unusual2you303772282•

Worse, in my opinion, is activating Shiva before Ronia... I did that today... twice... ugh.

1
saberishungry•

I typically don't have troubles while combo'ing. However, it's usually when I'm congratulating myself for a job well done linking all the requisite orbs together that I see my Shiva or K.Baddie blinking, active unused. Right as I take my finger off the touchscreen.

Inceptagon381579275•

I'm farming the legendary dragon rush this week. I died about three times out of 20, each time was due to the same dumb mistake of firing Morning Star and forgetting to heal / not realizing that the turn counter was at 1. I've brused my head from all the facepalming.

Also gotta love it when I'm doing an intense combo and the phone lags for whatever dumb reason, causing the orb to just drop.

Dousing_Machine337799210•

Orb ghosting is the fucking worst

1
Innosint360,702,379 Pan, Ronia, L.meta•

no kidding, I can clear 6 combos with just a bit of thinking with my Haku or Ronia team, activate my Sakuya in endless most of the time. (made it to floor 45 multliple times)

yet... I just failed Satan over 6 times today

Yes. It generally involves me carefully planning my route, believing I executed it perfectly, only to find out I managed to diagonally swap some orbs right at the beginning, screwing the entire thing.

1
SoF4rGone•

Check if PadPrax or another practice app is in the store still. You can screenshot, then practice the move. I did this a ton when learning to do Twinlits and stuff where I needed to match most the board to clear the content. You can try different horus boards, or just practice long, complex moves.

Start at the beginning, work on each turn, then get better at doing it. Eventually, muscle memory will kick in and you'll be able to do it on the main one. Sure, you can still choke, but practicing the move and getting the path trained is key.

I choked super hard when I was trying to get Goemon. I messed up stalling and actually died so i stoned, and then i miss played by not using certain skills and ended up dying again and stoned. After I realized that I could not kill him without certain skills and just ended up dying again.

tldr: wasted two stones trying to get Goemon and still failed

I choke when a diagnol move goes awry. I'll backtrack to try and get it right but then my 8 combo move only ends up being 3.

I choke ALL THE TIME. It's a serious problem for me, especially when I'm running Isis or DQXQ. I'm farming the Eva collab for skill ups and I seriously cannot stop messing up and dying on either floor three or the boss. Nothing worse then seeing the boss with 1% of its total hp swing and kill me in one hit. Poor Isis is never gonna get a skill up...

Yes.

Whenever I see that a 10-combo is possible and I'm running Anubis / Anubis, I brace myself for possible fainting due to oxygen deprivation.
