Applying for Masters in I/O Psych, but research experience isn't in the I/O field
I'm a senior getting ready to apply to for graduate programs in I/O Psych (Masters). I started doing research for an experimental psychopathology lab last semester. As a result, I have a lot of research experience, but it is mainly in the clinical psychology field. My school was not offering any I/O Psych research/labs at the time I was applying to them, so I went to the next best lab I could find.
Will the admissions not care about my research experience since it is not in the I/O field? I really did not have a choice in this matter. I knew I wanted/had to do research, psychopathology was really the only ones I could do.
