[build help] Gaming PC for <1000. Trying to ultra 1080p

USD$

I gave my brother my old asus laptop so I'm in between computers. I'm now trying to build a computer and max out 1080 resolution.

Here is where I'm at, and going to hook up to my tv. I'm not sure on keyboard and mouse yet but I understand those are going to put me above the $1000 budget. I also am not sure about the graphics card and if I should settle with a 270x, 285, 280x, or 760, 770.

Edit: I have a cd key and a windows 7 64bit I'm going to use, I had tried to put it on the old laptop I had but it was incompatible.

This will be my first build. I have a job as a service writer at a dealership so I'm ok with spending a bit more.

Also should I wait for 900 series? Will it make the 270x, 285, 280x price drop enough to make a difference?
