It's the 10th Anniversary of the SGI Statistics Dept!
Oh Boy! Oh Boy! Oh Boy! The Sept. 19 WT is out, and "The statistic department marks 10 years of absolute value" How exciting! I'll share some of the juiciest parts:
A membership card is not a piece of paper; it is the life of one person. In it, his life pulsates, her personality is contained, and the drama of awakening in faith and rebirth is played out.
Wow! I thought I saw that box of cards moving once. And I think I even heard heavy breathing in there one time. This explains it!
For the past 10 years, districts have used these reports as a marker to discuss the condition of each member and how better to support their growth and victory. Since that time, the numbers of members accounted for in the system has nearly doubled.
Well that's strange. So how come the world wide figures haven't changed in at least 30 years? I think they're qualifying that bogus statement with "members accounted for in the system" jargon. Still counting those who left the SGI and using inflated "household" numbers.
Each statistic administrator will also be presented with a leather-bound notebook and pen, emblazoned with the SGI-USA statistic department label.
*Oooohh. SGI certainly spares no expense, eh? A notebook and pen for 10 years of hard forgery....I mean "work."
Then Ikeda says:
...membership statistics is the most essential foundation for the Soka Gakkai's progress which is the Buddha's intent and mandate.
*OMG! I think I remember the Buddha telling his disciples in one of the Suttas to make sure they keep track of the membership cards. Funny though, how they never wrote down his teachings until hundreds of years later. Those cards must have been real important back then. Guess they were actually papyrus cards, huh?
By the way, there are still seats available for the next FNCC conference if anyone's interested!
