How to do an ethanol wash on your cocaine

Ok, first thing's first. I don't recommend doing this unless you get coke that is decent in the first place, because you will lose a good bit.

Ever tried an acetone wash? Ever tried an acetone wash and been let down with the results? It's a pain in the ass to make your acetone anhydrous, and it's otherwise somewhat trying to find anhydrous acetone, and when you do have it, the wash yields shoddy results. Been there, done that. What you need is good ol' 95% ethanol, 190 proof Everclear.

Take an eight ball of your blow, crush it up nice and fine, throw it in a shot glass, suck up 10 ml of ethanol in a syringe, squirt it in the shot glass with the coke and stir it up. Set that in the freezer for an hour to an hour and a half. The idea is that the coke is all dissolved in the ethanol; over the course of the hour or so that the shot glass is in the freezer, the cut falls to the bottom of the glass, and a clear layer of ethanol with cocaine dissolved in it rests on top.

After the time is up, take the shot glass out of the fridge, use your syringe to suck the clear layer of ethanol off the top (Be careful not to suck up any more cut. You may lose a tiny bit of ethanol/coke but the loss will be negligible). Squirt that onto a pyrex over low heat on a hot pad (I would say no more than 140-150 degrees F just to be safe) until the ethanol evaporates and you are left with relatively dry product. The 5% water in the Everclear takes a little while to evaporate, so if you dont want to wait overnight, your coke may be a touch damp.

Repeat the process once more on the cut remaining in the shot glass, then scrape up the remains from the pyrex and you'll be ready to go with what is consistently awesome product.

EDIT: When you finally get a chance to try this out, PM me or do a followup post with your results! I'd love to hear back

Can you drink this coke and ethanol and get fucked up though?

23
Flying_Dutchmann•

Sure but it'll mainly be a waste of cocaine.

Actually the difference (in efficiency) is mostly perceived. Oral bioavailability is not thought to be massively lower than that of nasal. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10954344

That said, I suspect that better snorting technique should be able to counter this, and therefore recover the 49.0% bioavailability which the paper suggests is achievable through nasal absorption.

My calculation for nasal BA: =.19/((.81*.33)/(1-.31))

.81 is the fraction which is swallowed, .81*.33 is the bloodstream concentration achieved by this. Dividing by (1-.0.31) gives the total amount in the bloodstream after nasal administration. 0.19/Ans then gives the fraction of the nasally absorbed cocaine in the bloodstream.

Sound right?

Can you be more specific?

Borax•

In the study they said that 81% of insufflated material was swallowed, which seems like a lot. Finer powder, smaller bumps, moister membranes and gentler insufflation should improve this figure.

What you've said is correct, but what you didn't account for is the reason that people snort or inject any drug: rapid onset. The difference is perceived because the difference is real. Studies have shown (and been repeated ad infinitum) that the same dose of a drug ingested as injected leads to addiction much more successfully with injection. The same dose reaches the brain faster, and as a result, in higher concentrations. The gut slows down the dose that reaches the brain so you have a slow onset steady effect from the drug, whereas injection and insufflation bypass metabolism and go straight to the brain via the bloodstream.

Borax•

Sorry, I didn't mention that but the paper certainly does and suggests that this is the key reason that nasal admin is preferred, despite the minimal increase in BA under typical conditions.

2
deliciousrugs•

The difference is not mostly perceived - the difference is significant and due to differing rates of absorption. Ultimate bioavailability may be similar, but that's not the major metric behind what feels most pleasurable.

This is literally the conclusion of the abstract you linked to.

1
Borax•

Surely the difference in efficiency is received because as you point out the bioavailability is about the same.

See Stevie Ray Vaughn's intestinal lining for the answer to this. I think he used to mix coke and whiskey.

3
prussell774•

He put a gram in a cup of coffee every morning.

__samadhi__OP•

That sounds like a fucking terrible idea haha

3
Narit•

ah good lookin out, my friends love coke and im pretty sure they get bad coke (just assumed, i dont do it personally so i dont know for sure), now i can do a wash for them and see if they think its better or not!

9
__samadhi__OP•

Yeah, just make sure you use a ball. One eight ball to ten ml of ethanol is the ratio I have found that works

3
Narit•

oh shit really? i was only gonna use a gram, could i possibly just use 3ml of ethanol? or does it even matter? Im fine with waiting longer for it to purge off if thats the only issue

0
__samadhi__OP•

I'm sure it would work but the issue is that that is a very small amount of ethanol to work with and you don't want a huge ethanol:coke ratio, but I'm sure it could work. Maybe bump it up to four or five ml

1
Narit•

why does it matter if i use 10 ml for just a gram ? What negative effects would occur besides increased evaporation time?

1
drewpeacock420•

Could you do this with isopropyl? It sounds almost like the same method to make qwiso hash just with ethanol.

5
abutor•

Yeah you can do it with iso, I recomend getting electronics rated iso tho 99.5%.

Keep in mind tho if the cut us soluble you won't be doing anything

12
thisguy45•

yea, answer this question.

2
Eggness•

Edit: derp.

1
__samadhi__OP•

Is just isn't as good a solvent, and has a little too much water.

1
__samadhi__OP•

Also the thing about ethanol is pretty much only the coke is getting dissolved in it, acetone/iso wash more than just the coke into the final product

1

1
__samadhi__OP•

Well, you can try it with iso if you want. It isn't going to work as well

3
Borax•

Ethanol may be more selective because there is a fairly significant polarity difference between the two.

With that said, the answer to the question is "it depends on the cut". This will not remove levamisole.

1
ChalupaBatman_710•

Gonna try this sometime. Thank you sir

3
__samadhi__OP•

No prob

3
Borax•

No, whether this technique will work varies wildly on the drug and the cut. Simple recrystallisation will work for some, others need an a/b extraction, others need chromatography.

2
__samadhi__OP•

Out of curiosity, have you tried this before?

1
__samadhi__OP•

No idea honestly, but I tend to doubt it. I do know that an acetone wash works quite well on MDA and MDMA, but an ethanol wash won't

1
ChogginDesoto•

Why not just do it with water?

3
Flying_Dutchmann•

It takes a while for water to properly evaporate and if you were you put it in the freezer it'd turn into a solid, so you can't suck it up with a syringe anymore.

7
ChogginDesoto•

One can just filter with a coffee filter.

1
CHARLIE_CANT_READ•

Water is called the universal solvent for a reason, most of the cut will dissolve too.

6
ChogginDesoto•

Only the cuts with similar properties to cocaine (levamisole). The non polar cuts will be removed.

2
Borax•

Non-polar cuts like what? I can't think of any.

1
ChogginDesoto•

Whatever cuts people try and remove with an acetone wash.

2
__samadhi__OP•

Because water doesn't evaporate extremely fast like ethanol, nor is it as good a solvent for the coke. It will also dissolve more than just the coke

0
ChogginDesoto•

If you don't think water is a good solvent for cocaine, I'm not going waste time arguing about it.

-1
__samadhi__OP•

It isn't as good as ethanol because it will dissolve cut into it as well. Ethanol only dissolves the coke. Not to say that it isn't a good solvent for coke. Just for this process, ethanol has the properties we want, and water doesn't

4
ChogginDesoto•

Here's where I'm at. Ethanol ha water in it. You're using both polar an non polar solvents dissolving everything.

If you're using even low amounts of ethanol, there is still enough water to dissolve a significant portion of what you're trying to filter out.

Is the reason for doing this to purify the coke?

3
go_fuck_a_duck•

That's the idea

8
__samadhi__OP•

Yes

2
thiseffnguy•

Neat-o.

1
ItsEasierThisWay•

I have 200 proof (100%) ethanol, would this work for this process? Thus eliminating the end drying time for the 5% water to evaporate?

1
Borax•

Where did you buy that? 100% ethanol is usually produced by azeotropic distillation with toluene and tends to contain traces of toluene, so I doubt it would be sold with a "proof" label as would come from a lab supplier?

3
dontletdrugsdoyou•

Yes

2
__samadhi__OP•

That would be a dream come true. The better the ethanol the better the final product. I would have said use 100% but I had never actually seen any before. Maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough

2
12_Angry_Fremen•

You could but it wouldn't stay 200 proof for long. When exposed to atmosphere it would absorb water to bring it to 190 proof.

1
[deleted]•

I would like to propose something different. Take the coke do your ethanol trick, then take the residue and wash it with dry acetone and filter. I have also heard that on coca plantations, they ethanol to purify the base, when they get 70% coca paste, they throw it in a sock and soak n squeeze a few times and they can get it to 90%. The real question of how soluble levamisole and other phens vs cocaine is the question, I have heard levamisole isn't as soluble in cold ethanol vs. Cocaine. The best washes start with a wash of acetone for impurities and follow with ethanol or water to disolve the filter cake and leave the nasties.

1
CosmicDriffle•

Wouldn't this convert the coke into cocaethylene?

0
DOZENS_OF_BUTTS•

iirc, that conversion only happens within your body in the presence of coke and alcohol as part of some metabolic process

10
__samadhi__OP•

No

1
Borax•

Yes, but the process is incredibly slow without some sort of catalyst or enzyme (such as those found in the liver).

1
twigburst•

I don't think freeze precipitation will work for a lot of coke cuts. This will probably get out most of the water insoluble cuts, but I doubt this will do anything for lidocaine and you will end up wasting a lot of product.
