WHO THE FUCK DOWNVOTED THIS

9
Multai•

Didn't expect to run into you over here.

18
I_AM_STILL_A_IDIOT•

Well, I do play a lot of KSP.

11
Multai•

Yeah, I've read you play KSP on one of the "I made a (Insert WWII plane here) in KSP, thought I should post it over here" posts on r/WarThunder, I, as a somewhat active person reading 90% of the posts and 60% of all comments, just haven't seen you over here before.

Maybe I just didn't notice your username...

6
master_latch•

It wasn't me -- but technically this isn't directly related to KSP, which is against rule 2. I won't downvote cause it made me laugh, but I could understanding downvoting for that reason.

is this some anime?

7
Squeejee09•

It's from the movie that Frozen stole the Best Animated award from - The Wind Rises.

Such a beautiful film. I saw it two weeks ago at the local student cinema.

What was that movie I can remember the name

The Wind Rises

Thank you for not making me post this! My favorite Miyazaki film, because it's the the one that's the least preachy.

1

It was really sad at the end but a great movie.

1
Kohato•

Look at all those STRUTS!

28
Frightenstein•

Yeah, but he needs more boosters.

12
overusesellipses•

In all fairness it's hard to be bad at KSP. Whether you're successful or not at achieving any specific goal is one thing, but as long as you keep trying and have fun doing it I have yet to find anybody bad at the game.

13
tj111•

I suck at KSP, like really suck, and I love every second of it.

12
overusesellipses•

I've kinda plateaued and I think I need to find some new goals to achieve with it...that's it, tonight after work I'm getting drunk and finally going to tackle space planes.

1
Minthos•

If you repeatedly fail to reach your goals and the frustration makes you ragequit, you suck at the game.

2
overusesellipses•

That's what's great about the game for me...anytime I repeatedly fair to reach my goal, I just set a new goal.

1
CaptainTenneal•

I think the hardest thing in KSP is getting all your mods to work

1
overusesellipses•

Fair enough, that's part of why I don't use many mods...actually the computer I'm using now doesn't have any mods beyond Engineer. I just wish I could get the Canadarm mod to work with more recent versions...

2
TwinautSparkle•

The fuck is that? A flying train or something?

It's the Caproni Ca.60

Speaking of Caproni - check out the Stipa Caproni, my favorite airplane.

#### Caproni Ca.60:

The Caproni Ca.60 Noviplano was a nine-wing flying boat intended to be a prototype for a 100-passenger trans-atlantic airliner. It featured eight engines and three sets of triple wings. Two [pontoons](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontoon_(boat\)), mounted on each side, were intended to give the aircraft stability. Only one example of this aircraft was built by Caproni. The prototype only made one short flight on 4 March 1921 over Lake Maggiore in Italy. The aircraft attained an altitude of only 18 m (60 ft), then dived and crashed, breaking up on impact. The pilot escaped unscathed. Caproni had the wrecked airplane towed to shore, and announced that he would rebuild it, but that night it burned to ashes.

If there was ever a sign from a higher power urging you not to do something, it's this. Crashes... guy says he will try again, burns to the ground later that night.

"You are NOT rebuilding this shit!"

Maelstrom147•

I'm going to take a guess and say that this thing relies on thrust to stay airborne more than lift. That glide ration must be terrible lol. Does look awesome though.

3
Squeejee09•

It immediately nosedived into the water after takeoff, similar to my own seaplane attempts.

2
ktappe•

This thing had no tail. Maybe you could put tails on your seaplanes and see if they fly better.

3
P1h3r1e3d13•

Because it has lots of wings and not enough engines? I think you got that backwards.

Needed more struts.

Boosters wouldn't hurt, either.

So... Who's gonna re-build this in KSP?

You are - I challenge you.

I dont fucking believe this.

3
rwall0105•

That is amazing. I love this game so much. Does it fly?

2
Zhlask•

It can only fly to about 300 m then it will go into a flat spin and no rudder means its very hard to control

5
AngryCanadian•

Status: Destroyed on first flight

Yup, just like my every 1st flight in KSP

8
dadtaxi•

Enough struts yet?

Naaaaaaah....

6
Ach4t1us•

There's no such thing as "enough struts"

4
Anonamous_Quinn•

It made one short flight, didn't go anywhere, crashed then burned down.

Yep, sounds like all of my planes in KSP.

3
Soddington•

Spectacular real life failure is a Kerbin success story.

1
bigstumpyOP•

x post from r/aviation

1
uzimonkey•

All he did is add more wings and struts until it flew. Ooooh, I see now.

1
ArchmageNydia•

You think that's enough wings? I don't. This guy didn't, either, apparently.

Judging by this and this, I don't think this guy ever considered reducing the wing count. That last one has 200 wings. 200.

And for the grand finale...

#### Horatio Frederick Phillips:

Horatio Frederick Phillips (born 1845 in Streatham – 1924) was an early aviation pioneer from the United Kingdom. He was famous for building [multiplane](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiplane_(aeronautics\)) flying machines with many more sets of lifting surfaces than would be normal on modern aircraft. However he made a more lasting contribution to aeronautics in his work on aerofoil design.
